The health and safety of our Starfish and their families are very important to us. Our health and safety protocols are in place and in line with Swim SA requirements.

Here is a summary of the health and hygiene protocols that we have put in place to prevent the spread of the virus at swimming:

• The chlorine levels are in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations. Current data indicates that adherence to recommended disinfection practice is sufficient to inactivate COVID-19 virus in chlorinated swimming pools.
• Lesson sizes have been reduced to maximum of 4 children per class
• Cleaning and sanitization of all common areas will occur during the course of each lesson, in preparation for the next lesson.
• Sanitisation stations will be available on entry, at the pool side, on the deck and in the change rooms. 
• Staff members will wear masks at all times and wash / sanitise their hands after every lesson. 
• For children who are able to swim independently, coaching will take place from the pool side. 
• Equipment has been reduced and anything that cannot be easily sanitised has been removed. 
• The downstairs changeroom will be open to provide additional change room space. 
• Windows will be open for ventilation.

Please take note of the following:

• Please DO NOT bring your child to swimming if you or your child are unwell.
• Children should arrive dressed in their swimming costumes. 
• Only 1 parent may accompany a child to swimming. 
• Adults, who accompany a child, need to wear an appropriate face mask at all times. Children need to wear their face masks or visors when entering and exiting the swimming school. Masks or visors may only be removed for their swimming lessons. 
• Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your lesson time.
• Our Splashy Starfish assistants, Doreen / Ennettie, will let you in at the door. Please call 0721439639 if necessary. 
• Please sanitise your hands and shoes at the sanitisation station at the entrance. 
• Dorren / Ennettie will take your temperature and complete a COVID_19 screening questionnaire. Please sign the attendance register. 
• Use the deck area / pool side by the steps to get your child ready for their lesson.
• Only 4 children and their parents may be in the upstairs change room at the same time. Only 1 child and their parent may make use of the downstairs change room at a time. 
• There are 3 designated changing stations in the upstairs changeroom. Please keep a physical distance of 1.5m from others at all times.  
• Please leave promptly after your child’s lesson (within 10 minutes) to allow for cleaning and sanitisation.
